We are located deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas. This area is where Dan was born. After retiring from the Chemical Industry, we came home. From my first sight of this beautiful land, I have been in love with it. Peace and contentment abound.
Loblolly Farms has been a producer of fine timber for decades. Dan and I have also been in and out of beef cattle production. We both love raising and working with cattle. However, at this time, we are completely dedicated to our English Jack Russell Terriers.
Until a couple of years ago, neither Dan nor I had seen a Shorty Jack Russell Terrier. The taller Parson Jack Russell Terrier (like the RCA dog) was the one we were familiar with.
Our grandchildren introduced Shortie Jack Russells into our lives. Our daughter wanted a puppy that would stay small. Just watching those kids with that dog, even today, makes me smile. Dan and I decided to purchase our own puppy. We were a little surprised to discover how difficult it was to find Shortie in this part of Texas. I thought about how wonderful it would be if more children could have one of these sweet little puppies in their lives... to grow up with such a friend. Dan and I agreed to acquire a few of the best Shorties we could find. In the process, we would be doing something we really enjoy and making even more available the Shortie Jack Russell Terriers.
Welcome to Loblolly Farms
Last year we brought the Black and Tan Hunt Terriers here to East Texas. They are beautiful and unique in appearance, and there are actually fewer of them available.
When it comes to eye appeal, I can't deny that the broken and rough coats of the Shorties really have it, too.
Of course, we had to be able to offer them.
Dan and I have met some really nice people because of our Shorties. We want to thank them for their kindness and help. Karen Adams of Hobbit Hill has been so wonderful. Through Karen and Wendy Lindsey of Apple Jacks, we have both Shorties and Hunts. Gertie of Brightjacks and Belinda of Claddagh have also been invaluable in their assistance to us.

We register our dogs with the English Jack Russell Terrier Club Alliance and the American Hunt Terrier Club.
